Hunterdon County COVID-19 test site to remain open through June 30

FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Recognizing the continuing need many parents have for school children to receive school mandated Covid-19 tests and the recent surge in demand for testing, the Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners authorized the county test site, located at the Hunterdon Shopping Center, 39 Reaville Avenue, in Flemington (former Pier1 store), to continue to June 30.

Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren, the  Board’s liaison for the Health Department, said, “The Covid-19 test site on Reaville Avenue in Flemington continues to see brisk business. Since the site opened on February 3rd over 6300 tests have been administered, including a record 720 in the last week.

“The clinic is seeing school children and those who are concerned that they may have symptoms before visiting friends or traveling. And as has been noted many times previously, the test site is a resource to businesses because it creates options for employers and employees, particularly for those who have a medical or religious reason that prohibits vaccination,” Van Doren said.

“The program has proven to be valuable for residents, is entirely grant funded, and is available to all who live or work in Hunterdon County. It is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday from noon to 7:00 p.m.,” Van Doren said.

The Board of Commissioners approved a resolution extending the test site to June 30, using funds on account with Vault Medical Services.

The Health Department is also offering covid-19 booster vaccinations by appointment at the Route 12 County complex. The next date is June 1. Appointments can be made online or by calling 908-788-1351.
