Hunterdon County Freeholders announce additional COVID-19 testing days
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County’s Freeholder Board and the Hunterdon Medical Group (HMG) have added a third day each week, Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., for COVID-19 testing appointments without a physician’s prescription, at the HMG site, located at 121 Route 31 South, Suite 100, in Raritan Township, according to Freeholder Board Deputy Director Susan Soloway.
Soloway, the Board’s Health Department liaison, stated, “COVID-19 testing and contact tracing continues to be important keys to controlling the spread once positive cases are identified and self-quarantine can be implemented. To date the Hunterdon County Health Department has conducted over 13,000 contacts through the tracing program. With increasing demand for testing around the holidays, the County and HMG will now provide testing on Mondays from 4 to 8 pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1 to 5 pm. The Freeholders greatly appreciate the cooperation of HMG.”
Testing appointments are available for November 30, December 1, 3, 7, 8, and 10 at this time. To make an appointment call HMG at 908-237-4230.
First Responders, medical personnel, educators, critical infrastructure employees, anyone who has frequent contact with the public while working, if you live or work in Hunterdon County, may schedule an appointment.
Hunterdon County Health Officer Karen DeMarco said, “COVID-19 activity is increasing in Hunterdon County, and identifying positive cases is critical to controlling the spread of illness and preventing additional outbreaks in the community. Residents are urged to continue to take measures to protect their health as we enter the holiday season.”
