
Hunterdon County Health Department offering Johnson and Johnson vaccine at May 7 clinic
Appointments Available For Moderna Vaccine On May 4
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Hunterdon County Health Department has announced that vaccination clinic appointments are available for the administration of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine on Friday, May 7 and for the Moderna vaccine today, May 4.
Health Department Director Karen DeMarco, said, “Some individuals may be interested J&J vaccine because of its single dose application and those age 18 and above can schedule appointments on-line at the county website www.co.hunterdon.nj.us or call the County Health Department call center at 908 788-1351.”
“Both the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines are approved only for those age 18 and above. While the Johnson and Johnson vaccination is a single dose application, the Moderna vaccine requires two doses, no less than 28 days apart. Second vaccination appointments are scheduled at the time of the first dose. Individuals ages 16 and 17 must receive the Pfizer vaccine, available locally at CVS and Shoprite,” DeMarco said.
“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the administration of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) single dose covid-19 vaccine on April 23, after a cautionary 10-day pause. The state has provided the vaccine to the County Health Department for distribution,” Demarco said.

The county drive-thru clinic is located at the Hunterdon County Complex on Route 12 in Raritan Township.
