Hunterdon County house catches fire; no injuries reported

EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Amwell Valley Fire Company said no one was injured in a Hunterdon County house fire Thanksgiving afternoon.

Around 5:50 p.m. Amwell Valley Fire Company along with multiple other fire departments were dispatched for a reported structure fire on Manners Rd in East Amwell Township, officials said.

Upon arrival of the first arriving units, fire had already spread to the majority of the second and third floors, authorities said.

A Tender Taskforce was called in to shuttle water to the scene. Crews then initiated interior fire operations with then transitioning to defensive fire attack due to deteriorating fire conditions, officials said.

Crews operated for a prolonged period attempting to extinguish any remaining fire and hot spots, authorities said.

The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately clear.
