Hunterdon County man faces charges of possessing, distributing child pornography

MILFORD BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Hunterdon County man is facing several charges following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that led to a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office’s Forensic Unit and the New Jersey State Police Perryville Barracks, according to acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams.

On March 5, John Blackwell, 41, of Milford was arrested and charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of children for encouraging and directing a child to send him videos over the Internet depicting the child’s intimate body parts and engaging in prohibited acts, second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography, Williams said.

The crimes occurred on various occasions in 2020, Williams said.

Blackwell is being held in the Warren County Jail awaiting his first court appearance, Williams said.
