HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – A Hunterdon County man was sentenced for manufacturing/filming child sexual abuse material, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson.
Mattheu Goncalves, 24, of Clinton Township was sentenced on May 5 to a 6-year term at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center for sex offender treatment, Robeson said.
He pleaded guilty on Oct. 21, 2022 to second-degree manufacturing/filming child sexual abuse material for a recommended 8-year term in New Jersey State Prison, Robeson said.
Upon his release, Goncalves will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and be subject to Parole Supervision for Life, Robeson said.
The guilty plea and sentencing were the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Forensics Unit, Special Victims Unit, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
