
Hunterdon County Sheriff working with NJ State Police to assist Hunterdon school districts with threat preparedness
HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Sheriff Fred Brown, along with the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, will host a presentation to county school administrators and teachers, by The New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad on best practices related to school bomb threats.
This important topic prepared by the New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Department of Education, will furnish school personnel with the requisite knowledge to update their emergency response plans and implement best practices in the area of bomb threats.
This critical initiative follows the most recent safety plan by Sheriff Brown to introduce and deploy Special Class 3 Officers, through shared services agreements in several school districts in Hunterdon County.
“We are grateful for the assistance of the New Jersey State Police and the Bomb Squad Unit for their willingness to assist Hunterdon County Schools and ensure that our educators and school personnel have the necessary training to protect our children. While we all hope the tools used in the training will not need to be used, we cannot ignore the realities that exist.” Hunterdon County Sheriff Fred Brown stated.
