HVAC issue causes smoke at Hunterdon County CVS

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The smoke at a Hunterdon County CVS Pharmacy Friday night was caused by a HVAC system issue, according to a post on the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad’s Facebook page.

On March 3, at 6:47 p.m., a level 3 fire box alarm was dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy, located at 798 Route 202, in Readington Township for the fire alarm sounding and smoke inside the building, authorities said.

Police arrived moments later and confirmed smoke inside the building, the post said.

After an investigation, the smoke condition was traced back to a minor problem with the HVAC system, authorities said.
