Intoxicated man charged after entering homeowner’s garage, causing damage in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – An intoxicated man is facing several charges after he allegedly entered a garage looking for his cell phone and wallet and caused damage to the homeowner’s property Sunday morning in Hackettstown.

On May 30 at 10:44 a.m., police responded to 34 North Main Street in reference to an intoxicated male that entered a garage and was damaging the victim’s property, police said.

Through a police investigation it was determined that Angel Perez-Garcia, 21, of Hackettstown entered the garage reportedly looking for his wallet and cell phone, police said.

While in the garage, Perez-Garcia reportedly broke the garage door lock, broke the door off a mini refrigerator, broke picture frames and damaged a motorcycle, police said.

Perez-Garcia was charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was released pending a court appearance.
