Jersey Cash 5 winning ticket worth $229,605 sold in Sussex County

SUSSEX BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – One lucky ticket matched all five numbers drawn winning the $229,605 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from the Monday, July 15 drawing.

The lucky retailer that sold the winning ticket was Quick Chek #43, 270 Route 23 South, in Sussex. 

The winning numbers were: 02, 05, 07, 19 and 28 and the XTRA number was: 02.

Acting Executive Director James Carey said, “We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Quick Chek #43. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket. Overnight, they have become one more ‘lucky location’ for the very fortunate lottery winner.”

Carey announced that there were 339,024 tickets purchased for the drawing. By adding XTRA, for an additional $1.00 per play, winners are able to multiply their non-jackpot prizes by the XTRA number drawn. For correctly matching four of the five numbers drawn, 87 ticketholders won $328 each and 15 others won $656 each with the addition of XTRA. Moreover, for correctly matching three of the five numbers drawn, 3,115 ticketholders won $10 each and 585 others won $20 each with the addition of XTRA. Lastly 6,080 ticketholders each won $2 for correctly matching two of the five numbers drawn with the addition of XTRA on their purchase.
