Jury convicts man who sexually assaulted 2 kids in Phillipsburg

BELVIDERE, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County jury on Thursday found a former Phillipsburg man guilty on a six count Indictment, according to acting Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer.

Herman Quintana, who now lives in Easton, Pa, was convicted of three counts of second-degree sexual assault, victim under 13-years-old, and three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, sexual conduct, Pfeiffer said.

These convictions stem from Quintana committing multiple acts of sexual contact upon two children.  The acts occurred in Phillipsburg between March 2015 and September 2016, when the children were six and 10-years-old, Pfeiffer said.

The children were known to Quintana, Pfeiffer said.

Upon his conviction, the court granted the state’s request to remand Quintana to the Warren County jail pending his sentence, Pfeiffer said. 

Quintana faces a maximum of 10 years in state prison pursuant to the no early release act, on each second-degree sexual contact count and 10 years in state prison on each second-degree endangering count. Quintana will also be subject to Megan’s Law registration and parole supervision for life.

Quintana is tentatively scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 7, 2020.
