Juvenile charged with DWI after Sussex County crash

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A juvenile was charged with DWI after a crash last month in Byram Township.

The crash happened on March 26 on Lackawanna Drive, police said.

While officers were speaking to the driver, police felt the driver may be intoxicated. The driver was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

The driver, whose identity was not released, was arrested and transported to the station where he consented and failed two breath tests, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, underage driving while intoxicated, provisional driver’s license violation, and careless driving. He was released to a family member pending a court apperneace, police said.
