Kean meets with small business owners in Downtown Clinton

CLINTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) — Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. (R-NJ) met with small business owners on Main Street in Clinton this week to hear from them directly about the issues facing them and how he can continue supporting their efforts to support the community, grow, and create jobs.

Kean also met with Hunterdon County Commissioner John Lanza, Clinton Mayor Janice Kovach and Clinton Councilmen Ross Traphagen and Nick Bruno.

“Small businesses and downtowns like Clinton are the lifeblood of New Jersey’s economy. The huge challenges these main street business owners face just to keep their doors open and hardworking employees on payroll are astounding. Washington needs to step up to break the back of inflation, cut burdensome regulation, and lower taxes,” Kean said. “I will continue to champion these priorities in Congress so that businesses and aspiring businesses can grow our economy to a better future.”

“Thank you to Congressman Tom Kean for visiting my small business in downtown Clinton. We had good conversations about challenges small businesses continue to face. We also got to discuss optimistic local community issues,” said Dino Rentoulis, owner of Towne Restaurant. “We are grateful the Congressman took the time to talk to us during his visit to town.”

“It was my pleasure to join Congressman Kean and introduce him to many of our small business owners in downtown Clinton, said Clinton Councilman Ross Traphagen, “I am grateful the Congressman took the time to listen and learn from our business owners so he can work to best serve our community. I look forward to working with him to continue to strengthen our business community and our town as a whole over the coming months.”

Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. is serving his first term in Congress representing the 7th District of New Jersey.  The district is comprised of parts of Union, Somerset, Morris, and Sussex Counties, and all of Hunterdon and Warren Counties.
