Kids ages 2-17 invited to the join a Book Buddies Reading Program at Sussex County Library System

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) announces the Book Buddies Reading Program scheduled to run from August 11 to September 6.

This special summer reading initiative aims to provide extra support and encourage a love of reading among children and teenagers regardless of their abilities. Book Buddies is an engaging and inclusive program designed to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning in kids and young adults.

As part of this program, participants will be paired with experienced and passionate mentors, who will guide them through their literary journey and inspire them to explore the magical world of books.

Children and parents can create a customized experience with Book Buddies through:

  • One-on-One Book Buddies Sessions
    • Children will bring their own book and either read or be read to in 15-minute time blocks
  • Small Group Book Club Buddies
    • In a small group setting, children will read together (book provided)
  • Virtual Book Buddies and Book Club Buddies
    • Children will be able to participate in either one-on-one sessions or small group settings via Zoom

Children will log their reading and receive a prize at the conclusion of each session.
