Lane closures on Route 57 as culvert replacement project advances in Warren County

Alternating traffic will be maintained during construction

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Route 57 is scheduled to have single lane closures Saturday as a culvert replacement project advances in Lopatcong Township.

From 9:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 until 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, single lane closures are scheduled on Route 57 between Red School Lane and Strykers Road.

The closures are necessary to install construction barrier, temporary traffic signals, and restripe the roadway. Alternating traffic will be maintained in the westbound lane for approximately eight months to replace the culvert.

The $8.1 million federally funded project will replace the existing culvert on Route 57 over Lopatcong Creek. The project also includes guiderail replacement and paving. Work is expected to be complete in fall 2024.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website for construction updates and real-time travel information
