Larval mosquito control operations to take place on May 2

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – With the aid of the State Mosquito Control Commission, Morris County Mosquito Control will be applying granular larvicide to the Passaic, Rockaway, and Whippany River flood plains with a helicopter.

Larval mosquito control operations are scheduled for Tuesday, May 2 between approximately 7:00 a.m. until finished.

Parts of the following townships are scheduled to be treated:

  • Chatham Borough
  • Chatham Township
  • East Hanover Township
  • Florham Park Borough
  • Hanover Township
  • Lincoln Park Borough
  • Long Hill Township
  • Montville Township
  • Parsippany-Troy Hills

Mosquito larvae are the immature stage of the flying adult mosquito and the larval habitat is standing water. This operation will not be treating adult mosquitoes. The product being used is VectoPrime FG.
