Little Shepherd’s Learning Community in Washington Reopens this School Year after Being Slated to Close

WASHINGTON, NJ (Warren County) – In June 2018, a group of determined parents did not want to say goodbye to Little Shepherds Learning Community, so they did the unthinkable.

Little Shepherds Learning Community, is a faith based child care center designed for infants through kindergarten aged students.

The academy was previously set to close June of last year, but the students’ parents did not find out until January 2019.

President of the school, Vincent Ianelli, adds that parents got together on February 20, 2019 to save the jobs of the teachers – who he says became, “like family.”

“We were able to secure a location, build it out, and as of this week we’re open,” explains Ianelli.

Parents felt that the academy was a great place to send their children because of how well they were taken care of, and how much the teachers love them.

“People did stuff out of the goodness of their hearts and it really restores your faith in humanity,” says Ianelli.

Ianelli also says the future is bright for Little Shepherds Learning Community, and he hopes to grow programs and enrollment over time.
