
Long Valley man charged with DWI, open container
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Long Valley man is facing several charges including driving while intoxicated in Washington Township.
On Sept. 8, at 6:39 p.m., township police responded to the Valley Restaurant and Pub, located on east Mill Road, for a report of a possible impaired driver who struck a parked vehicle upon leaving the establishment, police said.
Upon arriving to the scene, officers made contact with the suspect’s vehicle driving behind the Krauzer’s strip mall. The driver was identified as Robert Sikorski, 58, of Long Valley, police said.
Officers allegedly detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside his vehicle as well as observing several open containers of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Sikorski was under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Sikorski was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container and driving while suspended. He was released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.
