Man, 60, sentenced to probation for cruelty and neglect of a child in Sussex County

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man has been sentenced to probation for cruelty and neglect of a child, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Glenn Gile, 60, of Andover was sentenced on May 12 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Taggart said.

He was sentenced to probation for a period of eighteen months and in addition to the standard conditions of probation, he must enroll in and complete a batterer’s intervention program and pay fines and fees, Taggart said.

Gile pled guilty on March 27 to fourth-degree cruelty and neglect of a child. He admitted knowingly causing harm to a child making the child an abused or neglected child, Taggart said.

Gile was represented by Matthew Young, Esq., and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General and Acting Assistant Prosecutor Vanessa Henderson.
