Man, 62, pleads guilty to assault by auto

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man has entered a guilty plea to assault by auto, according to Sussex County Prosecutor Francis Koch.

Mark W. DiBattista of Branchville pled guilty to third-degree assault by auto before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., via the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 4, Koch said.

In pleading guilty, DiBattista was intoxicated while operating his motor vehicle and striking a pedestrian outside the Hampton Walmart causing multiple injuries, Koch said.

DiBattista is scheduled to be sentenced on June 17, Koch said.
