MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A 66-year-old Hackettstown man was charged after he allegedly said “what side do you think I should use to smash her (expletive) skull in” in front of customers inside the Mansfield Township Home Depot.

On August 8, a husband and wife were shopping when the male approached them carrying a pick axe type tool and said “what side do you think I should use to smash her (expletive) skull in,” according to police.

The couple were unsure of whether the comment was directed at them or someone else, police said.

The man was later identified and a welfare check was conducted at his residence to make sure all of the residents were ok, police said.

An officer spoke to the man, whose name was not released, and he was issued a summons on August 19 for disturbing the peace, police said.
