Man accused of burglary at Morris County hotel

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 25-year-old Morristown man faces multiple charges in connection with a burglary at a Hanover Township hotel earlier this month.

On February 2, officers responded to the Red Carpet Inn for a reported burglary to a room. Upon arrival and speaking with the victims, a description was provided of the alleged burglar, police said.

An individual matching the description was located roaming the halls of the hotel and after a brief investigation resulted in Tyler Herrick being arrested, police said.

Herrick was charged with burglary, trespassing, theft of movable property, receiving stolen property, under the influence of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to make proper disposal of CDS and criminal attempt-burglary. He was transported to the hospital for an evaluation and was provided a court date, police said.
