Man accused of driving wrong way on Route 10 in Hanover Twp charged with DWI

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County woman accused of driving the wrong way on Route 10 in Hanover Township now faces driving while intoxicated and related charges.

Lester Caseres-Betancourt, 25, of Dover was charged with DWI, possession of an open container, consumption of alcohol in a vehicle, wrong way on a one-way street, improper turning, reckless and careless driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, use of a cell phone while driving, and refusal.

According to police, On Dec. 4,polcie responded to a report of a vehicle driving the wrong way on Route 10 and then located Caseres-Betancourt sitting in his running vehicle in the Quick Chek parking lot on South Jefferson Road.

Police had a brief discussion with Caseres-Betancourt and allegedly detected an alcoholic beverage. He was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested, police said.

Caseres-Betancourt was charged and released to a friend pending a court appearance.
