Man accused of driving wrong way on Route 202 in Readington Twp. charged with DWI

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Pennsylvania man accused of driving the wrong way on Route 202 in Readington Township now faces a slew of charges including driving while intoxicated.

On August 8, at 2:22 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Route 202 for driving the wrong way on the highway, police said.

The driver, who was identified as Patrick Noel of Easton, displayed indicators of impairment and refused to perform any sobriety tests, police said.

During the investigation, Noel allegedly lied to officers about his identity and was later found to have two outstanding Phillipsburg warrants, police said.

Noel was arrested and charged with DWI, refusal to submit to breath testing and other related traffic offenses. He was also charged criminally with hindering his own apprehension and obstruction of justice, police said.

Noel was released to a family member, pending a court appearance.
