
Man accused of sexually assaulting 2 girls in Sussex County motel room
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Morris County man was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted two girls at a motel room in Andover Township.
Jose Rivera-Lobos, 30, of Dover was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of children.
On February 6, at 9:00 a.m., officers received information from the Elizabeth Police Department pertaining to a female juvenile being with Lobos at a room at the Econolodge, located at 448 Route 206, police said.
Officers located Lobos’s room and made contact with him along with two female juveniles. A further investigation revealed a sexual assault of the two juveniles had occurred at which time Lobos was taken into custody, police said.
The motel room was secured by officers as a search warrant was later sought and executed in order to process the scene, police said.
Lobos was charged and then lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges against Lobos are pending, police said.
Andover police were assisted by the Newton Police Department, New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Unit and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
