Man accused of sexually assaulting 2 teens at a Morris County hotel
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – A 22-year-old man man is facing several charges for allegedly sexually assaulting two teens last year at a Morris County hotel, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.
Nathaniel G. Yanez of Newark and previously of Dover has been charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Carroll said.
These charges result from law enforcement’s continued investigation of Yanez after the Dover Township Police Department initially charged him on March 1 with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, Carroll said.
It is alleged that on May 30, 2021, Yanez sexually assaulted a 15-year-old victim at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway Township. The following day, it is alleged that he then sexually assaulted a 17-year-old victim in the same hotel, Carroll said.
Rockaway Township Police Department charged Yanez for these additional crimes on May 5, Carroll said.
Yanez continues to be detained at the Morris County Correctional Facility following his arrest on the initial charges. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 11, Carroll said.
