Man accused of spitting at officers, damaging wall at Mount Olive Township Police Department

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – An 18-year-old Flanders man is accused of spitting at officers and damaging a wall at the Mount Olive Township Police Department on Saturday afternoon.

On March 5, at 12:00 p.m., Marcellis Smallwood was in the processing room of the police station for an unrelated matter and while seated in the room, he began to damage the wall adjacent to where he was seated, police said.

When officers intervened, Smallwood spit at the officers several times, police said.

Smallwood was charged with throwing bodily fluid at officers and criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, police said.
