Man airlifted to hospital after tire explodes at Harmony Sand and Gravel

HARMONY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A man was airlifted to the hospital after a tire exploded at Harmony Sand and Gravel Friday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Alejandro Goez.

The incident happened at 12:43 p.m., Goez said.

The 44-year-old, whose name was not released, sustained an arm injury in the accident and was airlifted to St. Luke’s University Hospital Bethlehem. He was alert and conscious after the accident, Goez said.

The exact cause of the explosion was not released. 

“This has been deemed accidental and non-suspicious,” Goez said.
