Man arrested after allegedly swallowing drugs in Hunterdon County
FLEMINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Middlesex County man was charged earlier this month after police say he swallowed drugs and was found with 49 heroin folds.
On Thursday, September 9, Flemington Borough officers approached a vehicle in the area of Park Ave in front of the Steve’s Food Store and made contact with the occupants, police said.
The driver, Jesse Chambers, 44, of Sayreville, was attempting to conceal narcotics in his mouth and was removed from the vehicle. Attempts to have Chambers spit out the narcotics were unsuccessful and he swallowed them, police said.
The Flemington Raritan Rescue squad responded and assessed Chambers, police said.
A search of Chamber’s vehicle was completed and 49 heroin folds were found, police said.
Chambers was charged with possession of heroin/cocaine with the intent to distribute and was released pending a court appearance, police said.
The Hunterdon County Prosecutors Officer Narcotics Task Force also assisted.
