Man arrested for sexual assault in Somerset County
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A Somerset man has been arrested and charged for an alleged sexual assault which occurred on June 19-20, 2022, in Franklin Township, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
Antonio Galindo-Salazar, 27, was arrested and charged with second-degree sexual assault, McDonald said.
On June 20, 2022, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office received information that an adult female was alleging that she was sexually assaulted in Franklin Township, McDonald said.
The victim stated that she had been drinking alcohol at a residence and she later woke up in a bedroom to find Galindo-Salazar on top of her, McDonald said.
On Jan. 25, Galindo-Salazar was arrested without incident in Franklin Township and was then lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing, McDonald said.
The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit and detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department.
