Man arrested for weapons offense, warrants during traffic stop in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) –  A Hudson County man was arrested on a weapons offense and warrants after a traffic stop Saturday morning in Denville Township.

On Nov. 25, at around 8:32 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Route 10 after observing the vehicle allegedly tailgating another car, police said.

During the course of the stop, it was discovered that the driver, who was identified as Johnnie Britt 3rd, 51, of Jersey City had warrants for his arrest out of the Bedminster Township and North Warren Township Municipal Courts, police said.

During his arrest, Britt was also found to be in possession of a set of brass knuckles, police said.

Britt was charged with possession of prohibited weapons and obstructed view. He was then released on his own recognizance pending future court appearances in the Bedminster Township, North Warren, and Morris County Superior Court, police said.
