Man arrested in burglary of Sussex County home

VERNON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) –  A Sussex County man has been charged in connection with the burglary of a Vernon Township home that took place in November, according to police.

On Wednesday, November 23, a resident from the Scenic Lakes section of the township reported that his house was burglarized and a large sum of cash was stolen, police said.

The Vernon Township Police Department Detective Bureau investigated the crime with the help of residents who were able to provide camera footage from around the lake community, police said.

Richard Dobrowolski of Vernon Township was identified as the alleged suspect, and arrested on Dec. 6 He was charged with burglary and theft. He was then lodged in the Morris County Jail, police said.

The Sussex County Prosecutors Office, New Jersey State Police and Sparta Police assisted with the investigation.
