
Man breaks into Warren County home, demands money
INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man is facing several charges including burglary after allegedly breaking into home and demanding money from a victim, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Independence Township Police Department received a complaint of a burglary and criminal mischief that occurred in the Oak Hill Development, authorities said.
Through a police investigation it was determined that on Aug. 9 at 8:30 p.m. Rory Molnar, 37, of Independence Township, who is known to the victim, forced his way through the front door of the victim’s residence. The victim was home and sleeping at the time, the prosecutor’s office said.
Molnar then demanded money from the victim and left the residence, authorities said.
Molnar then allegedly threatened and demanded money from the victim through direct messages on lnstagram. He then returned to the victim’s residence at 11:30 p.m. and attempted to make forced entry through the front door but was unsuccessful, the prosecutor’s office said.
Molnar then spray painted vulgar statements about the victim on the front door of the residence, authorities said.
Molnar was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal trespass, third-degree terroristic threats, fourth-degree cyber harassment, and criminal mischief. He was then lodged in the Warren County Jail pending a detention hearing.
