Man calls 911, arrested on warrant

An abandoned 911 call resulted in a Middlesex County man being arrested last month.

WASHINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Warren County) – A Middlesex County man wanted on an arrest warrant assisted police in his own apprehension by calling 911 last month.

On July 12, at around 8:55 a.m., officers responded to an abandoned 911 call in the 90 block of Park Ave in Washington Borough, police said.

Upon the officer’s arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the male caller, who was identified as a 29-year-old Perth Amboy man, had an outstanding $1,000 Woodbridge warrant for his arrest, police said.

He was processed and released with a new court date, police said.
