Man caught with knife and marijuana in Readington Twp.

Readington Township, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Raritan man faces charges after police said he was found with a knife and marijuana on Wednesday in Readington Township.

Jeremy Booker, 33, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and certain person not to possess a weapon.

On May 22, at around 11:12 p.m., an officer was checking on a suspicious Nissan Altima on Bank Street. Upon speaking with the driver, who was identified as Booker, the odor of marijuana was allegedly detected inside the vehicle, police said.

Upon further investigation, police located marijuana on Booker along with a digital scale and packaging material for distribution inside the vehicle. Booker was also in possession of a knife and was found to be a certain person not to possess a weapon, police said.

Booker was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail pending a court appearance.
