
Man charged in connection with fatal motor vehicle crash in Jefferson Township
JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – An Oak Ridge man has been charged in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred in Jefferson Township on April 25, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp.
Matthew Pulis, 21, has been charged by summons-complaint with one count of third-degree strict liability vehicular homicide. He is scheduled for a court appearance on July 29, Knapp said.
The single-vehicle crash happened at around 7:45 a.m. on Berkshire Valley Road int he area of mile marker 3, Knapp said.
It’s alleged that Pulis was the driver of the motor vehicle involved in the crash and a 21-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the identity of this individual will not be released, Knapp said.
Members of the Jefferson Township Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit contributed to this investigation.
