Man charged with beer bottle attack in Mount Olive Twp.

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Flanders man was charged after he allegedly hit a man in the head with a broken beer bottle.

On Friday, April 12, at 8:14 a.m., officers responded to a residence in Eagle Rock Village for the report of a past tense assault, police said.

When officers arrived, the victim advised officers that a man was staying at the residence last evening, and struck him with a broken beer bottle following a verbal altercation. The victim had injuries to his head and hand, police said.

Through the course of the police investigation, it was determined that the suspect, who was identified as Tevin L. Bennett, 25, was still located inside the residence, police said.

Bennett was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with aggravated assault and released pending a court appearance.
