Man charged with DWI after crash in Byram Twp.

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man faces several charges after a crash Monday in Byram Township.

Steven G. Rabe of Byram Twp was charged with driving while intoxicated, underage driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and careless driving.

On July 20, township police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Sleepy Hollow Road. When patrols arrived, the officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle, identified as Rabe, who allegedly appeared to be intoxicated, police said.

Rabe failed several field sobriety tests and was then arrested. He consented to and failed two breath tests, police said.

Rabe was charged and released to a family member pending a mandatory Andover-Joint Municipal Court appearance.
