Man charged with DWI after crash outside liquor store

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed into a car in front of the ShopRite Wines & Spirits, police said.

On September 17, at around 7:12 p.m., police responded to the ShopRite Wines & Spirits parking lot, located at 80 Main St, for a report of a motor vehicle crash with two men involved in a dispute, police said.

Through a police investigation, it was determined that Hans G. Wolf, 77, of Hardwick Township, NJ was driving a 2019 Hyundai when he struck the rear of a 2020 Nissan, driven by a 37-year-old male from Hackettstown, NJ, which was beginning to park, police said.

While the officer was talking to Wolf, the officer detected the odor an alcoholic beverage, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Wolf was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath test, and disorderly conduct. He was released pending a court appearance.
