
Man charged with DWI after hitting a traffic light pole, leaving, police say
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Mount Olive Police say a Budd Lake man was arrested on multiple charges after he crashed into a traffic light pole while intoxicated last week.
On Sept. 10, at 5:03 a.m., Officers responded to a traffic accident on Wolfe Road at Route 46. Witnesses reported a 4 door Honda Accord struck a traffic light pole and left the scene, police said.
Police located the vehicle with heavy front end damage on Cassedy Road. The officers came in contact with the driver, who was identified as Mr. Pedro Y. Jimenez-Tapia, 26, and appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance, police said.
Jimenez-Tapia was asked to exit his vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety tests and upon
completion of the investigation, he was arrested, police said.
Jimenez-Tapia was charged with DWI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to exhibit socuments. He was released to a sober driver pending a court appearance, police said.
