MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Monmouth County man has been accused of driving while intoxicated after police say he crashed into several traffic cones on Oakwood Drive in Mount Olive Township.

On Dec. 12, an officer was on an assigned traffic safety detail for construction on Oakwood Drive, located in the Flanders section of the township, when he observed a blue Chevy Equinox fail to maintain its lane and struck several traffic cones, police said.

The officer stopped the vehicle and the driver was identified as Kenneth Faasen, 26, of Lake Como. The officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and asked him to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety tests, police said.

Faasen was then arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. He was released to a sober driver pending a court appearance, police said.
