Man charged with DWI, careless driving in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated and careless driving in Hackettstown, according to police.

On August 2, at around 8:51 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Route 182 for a moving violation, police said.

While the officer was talking to the driver, who was identified as 36-year-old Edwin Lopez, the officer detected the odor an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle, police said.

Lopez was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to possess driver’s license, failure to use headlights when required, and careless driving. Lopez was released pending a court appearance.
