Man charged with DWI following single-vehicle crash in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Hunterdon County man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated following a single-vehicle crash in Readington Township.

The crash happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Old York Road, police said.

The driver, who was identified as Anthony Hendershot of Pittstown, was observed standing outside his vehicle, police said.

While the officer was speaking to Hendershot, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. Hendershot failed the officers field sobriety tests and was then arrested, police said.

Hendershot was charged with DWI, reckless driving and careless driving. He was then released pending a court appearance.
