Man charged with DWI in Byram Twp.

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated in Byram Township, according to police.

On October 30, an officer observed a vehicle parked in a handicapped parking space at QuickChek, police siad.

The vehicle then left the business and proceeded to travel at a low rate of speed on Route 206. The officer then stopped the vehicle and while speaking to the driver, who was identified as Axcel Guerrero of Newton, the officer felt that he may be intoxicated, police said.

Guerrero was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was then arrested and transported to the station where he consented to and failed two breath tests, police said.

Guerrero was charged with driving while intoxicated, impeding the flow of traffic and handicapped parking. He was then released to a family member pending a court appearance, police said.
