Man charged with DWI, open container in Hackettstown
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Morris County man is facing a slew of charges including driving while intoxicated and having an open container in a motor vehicle in Hackettstown, according to police.
On Feb. 13, 2023, at around 1:04 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle on Route 46 for a moving violation, police said.
While the officer was talking to the driver, who was identified as Phillip Plummer, 33, of Mount Olive Township, the officer allegedly detected the odor an alcoholic beverage. The officers also located an open glass container of Heineken inside the vehicle, police said.
Plummer was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath test, reckless driving, failure to observe traffic signal, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motorist, possession of an open container of alcohol inside a motor vehicle, and having no front license plate. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
