Man charged with DWI, open container in Mount Olive Twp.

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County man is facing a slew of charges including driving while intoxicated and having an open container in a motor vehicle in Mount Olive Township.

On October 24, at around 11:31 a.m., officers was traveling on route 46 westbound near the CVS when they observed a white Kia stopped at the traffic light in the intersection impeding traffic. Police then observed the vehicle accelerate at a high rate of speed when the light turned green, and failed to maintain its lane multiple times, police said.

Police then stopped the vehicle on Wolfe Road and and the driver, who was identified as Khalef Robertson, 41, of Budd Lake, allegedly exhibited signs of obvious impairment due to alcohol, police said.

Robertson then performed standard field sobriety tests and upon completion of the tests, he was arrested, police said.

Robertson was charged with D.W.I, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, open container in a motor vehicle, consumption of open container in a motor vehicle, and maintenance of lamps. He was released to a sober driver, pending a court appearance.
