Man charged with DWI, reckless driving in Mount Olive Township

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) –  A 30-year-old Washington DC man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated in Mount Olive Township.

On April 17, at around 12:28 p.m., an officer was on routine patrol in the area of Route 46 and the Budd Lake Fire Department when he observed a 2017 Toyota pick up truck fail to maintain it’s lane, police said.

The officer then stopped the vehicle and came in contact with the driver, who was identified as Denis A. Mejia, and immediately showed signs of impairment due to alcohol and or drugs, police said.

Meja perform standard field sobriety tests and upon completion of the tests, he was arrested and transported to police headquarters, police said.

Mejia was charged with DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. He was released to a sober driving pending a court appearance, police said.
