Man charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct in Mount Olive Twp.

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 28-year-old Flanders man is facing charges including resisting arrest in Mount Olive Township.

On Dec. 18, at 10:05 p.m., an officer responded to a report of an unwanted male at a residence on Hillside Avenue in Flanders, police said.

The officer arrived on scene and immediately came in contact with Keith Ropp and he allegedly appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, and the residents of the home wanted him to leave the property. As the officer attempted to guide Ropp to the police car to drive him home, he continually pulled away from the officer in an attempt to drive his own vehicle, police said.

The officer then advised Ropp he was under arrest and he allegedly resisted the officer’s attempts to place handcuffs on him, police said.

Ropp was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was released pending a court appearance.
