Man charged with string of car burglaries, stealing car in Morris County

LINCOLN PARK BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County man was arrested and charged in connection with several vehicle burglaries and a vehicle theft in Lincoln Park, according to police.

The Lincoln Park Police Department had been investigating reports of vehicles being unlawfully entered as well as a report of a stolen vehicle on June 10, 2021. These incidents all occurred in the upper Main Street area neighborhoods as well as the Hunting Meadow Condo Complex, which is also in close proximity to Main Street, police said.

Police quickly developed Joseph Derissio, 23, of Lincoln Park as a suspect and after conducting an investigation, detectives were able to connect him to some of the incidents, police said.

As a result of the investigation, Derissio was arrested on June 16 and was charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft as well as additional charges for joyriding and receiving stolen property. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, police said.
