Man charged with theft of six-pack in Mount Olive Township

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) -A Budd Lake man was charged with stealing a six-pack of Miller Lite Beer from George’s Liquor and Deli, police said.

On Jan. 26, at 3:44 p.m., the owner of George’s Liquor and Deli, located at 114 Route 46, contacted police to report a shoplifting incident. The owner reported that the accused shoplifted a six pack of Miller Lite Beer and provided the dispatcher with a detailed description of the suspect along with the direction of travel, police said.

An officer responded to the area and immediately observed a man matching the description running through a yard on Netcong Road. The officer ordered the man to stop running and speak to him. He was carrying a six pack of Miller Lite, police said.

The man was identified as 33-year-old Jose L. Casarrubias and later arrested. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court appearance, police said.
